London, Ontario's Deshkaan-ziibi River, which runs just outside the windows on the way to Western University's art gallery, was dubbed the "Thames" when it was first settled. Inspired by that misnaming, this project asks: doesn't that river also dream of elsewhere?
Transfiguration of the Antler River places the waterway in a state of “departure”, as if to wonder where else the Deshkaan-ziibi might itself be thinking about. Water from the river is mixed with glycerin and misted to the interior of the windows, creating an ephemeral, yet lasting sweat.
